01 The basis of all sheet-metal work

The material is chosen before it is bent

The flat and slit sheets in Alternativa’s range are intended for every kind of sheet-metal work and use in construction. They come in a range of sizes, colours and types of surface protection, so that the right material can be chosen to suit the needs and requirements of the project.

The range holds sheets with various surface protections, including polyester, matt polyester, Pural and galvanised sheet, as well as stainless steel. Other variants can be offered to a customer’s individual request.

Every sheet we use and offer carries the appropriate quality certificates and attestations of the safety and durability of the material, which secures its reliability and long life in use.

02 Surface protection

What stands between the steel and the rain

Other variants can be offered to a customer’s individual request.

Polyester

The standard coating

The most common finish on coated sheet — the full RAL palette with a glossy surface.

Matt polyester

Without glare

The same coating in a matt finish. The surface does not throw light back, so roof and façade stay calm even when the sun falls at a sharp angle.

Pural

Increased resistance

A thicker and more resistant coating than standard polyester — chosen where exposure and mechanical loading are greater.

Galvanised sheet

Without a finishing coat

Sheet protected by a zinc layer alone, without colour. The base for sheet-metal elements where colour is not a requirement.

Stainless steel

Corrosion-resistant steel

For uses that call for a corrosion-resistant material, without a protective layer that wears away.

03 By use and by working

How far the sheet gives under the tool

The same thickness of sheet does not behave the same under the tool. The grade is chosen by what is done with the sheet afterwards — machine bending, seaming or working by hand.

DX51D

Hard sheet

Intended for machine working and bending.

Bending at a right angle
DX52D · PLX

Half-hard sheet

Intended for seaming.

Folding back — a seam
DX53D

Soft sheet

Suited to work that calls for a more yielding material.

Working to a large radius
04 Slit sheets

Slit strip — width to suit the work, not the sheet

A range of widths makes it simpler to choose material for further working and for making sheet-metal elements, while using the sheet more efficiently and cutting waste.

250mm

Developed width — the size of the sheet before bending

One coil, several strips — slitting lengthwise
05 The delivery format

As many metres as the job calls for

Practical sizes make the material easier to transport, to store and to use in all kinds of sheet-metal work.

  • 20m
  • 30m
06 The palette

The same palette as the roof it goes on

The colours of flat sheet match the profiled range, so flashing, gutter and roof surface stay one whole. Shades outside the palette are made to order.

What you see on screen is approximate — for the final choice of colour, always ask for a sample of the sheet.

07

Tell us the size, the colour and the working

Flat sheets, slit strip and coils are supplied to order — by developed width, by length and by type of surface protection. If you are not sure which grade your work calls for, ask us before ordering.
