One of the companies that has not given in to the impact of the pandemic and that has been diligently and responsibly looking for ways to counter its negative effects the whole time is Alternativa d.o.o.
Alternativa d.o.o., the leader in thermal insulation sandwich panels and profiled sheets, met the crisis prepared, unlike many others. By constantly keeping an eye on market needs, stock levels and timely purchases of materials, it managed to maintain business continuity and respond promptly to every customer requirement.
Alternativa recently marked 25 years in business. Despite the many difficulties and challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, impressive results were achieved in 2021, and Alternativa celebrated a record business year at the same time.
Perhaps the clearest indicator so far of the pandemic’s impact on domestic companies is the level of their revenue this year compared with last year and with the year before the pandemic.
Comparing these parameters, one could say that for Alternativa there was no pandemic at all: total revenue in 2021 rose by 28% compared with 2020.
Within the project “100 largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, based on official data from the consolidated reports for 2020 collected from the relevant agencies, Alternativa was ranked 43rd among the largest companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the basis of the results achieved in 2021, a step forward on the list of the largest companies is expected.
Significant business progress was made thanks to the increased interest of foreign companies in Alternativa’s products. Export growth of more than 60% placed Alternativa on the list of the 30 largest exporters in 2021.
Leading global companies (Samsung, Hyundai, Kia, Pepsi), as well as the largest regional manufacturing and trading companies, have placed their trust in Alternativa’s top-quality products.
This year also saw record production, as shown by the fact that more than 1,900,000 m² of thermal insulation panels and a record quantity of profiled sheets were placed on the market.
Since the previous purchase of a thermal insulation panel line proved a very successful investment, at the beginning of 2020 a contract was signed for the delivery of a new line with a renowned European supplier, which will help shorten lead times and double production capacity. The value of this investment exceeds 12 million KM. The new thermal insulation panel line is expected to start up during the spring of 2022.
