Quarterly thematic sessions of the Government of Sarajevo Canton agreed
The meeting discussed the continuation of the successful cooperation so far and the improvement of the business environment in Sarajevo Canton.
“To carry out our duties and responsibilities properly, we need sound communication with the businesspeople operating in the canton and with their representatives,” Minister Delić said after the meeting.
He added that on this occasion a whole range of topics was discussed, among them proposed measures to help sectors at risk, incentives for new production investment, incentives for hiring new workers, public-private partnership, the further abolition of para-fiscal charges, the adoption of the Law on the Economic and Social Council of Sarajevo Canton, and so on.
It was concluded at the meeting that quarterly thematic sessions of the Cantonal Government will be organised in future, to be attended by representatives of the association.
“Back in 2019 we started a dialogue and were the first government to hold a joint thematic session with employers. As a government we will keep repeating that the private sector is the healthiest part of our society. Without the private sector and entrepreneurship there is no budget, no health care, no education and no police,” Premier Forto said.
Minister Delić stressed that at this session they expect businesspeople to put all their proposals to the government, so that the necessary level of a favourable business environment can be reached in our canton.
Both Premier Forto and Minister Delić underlined that they wish to continue the good and positive practices and the successful cooperation so far with this association, which is the best representative of the business community of Sarajevo Canton, since it represents a respectable number of businesspeople.
“It matters a great deal to us to hear their views, particularly when it comes to amending legislation intended above all to enable a favourable business environment,” Minister Delić concluded.
