Today, a year on, we are proud to say that we not only met that plan but far exceeded it. Total turnover rose by 24%, exports by 52% (in figures, reaching 25 million KM), and profit fully followed those increases.
Once again we have shown that we are the outright Balkan leader in the production and processing of coated sheet, and that we are ready to deliver even the most demanding regional projects.
During 2020 our thermal insulation panels were used to build facilities for renowned global companies such as SAMSUNG, KIA, HYUNDAI and PEPSI, as well as facilities of leading regional manufacturing and trading companies.
This excellent result came above all thanks to our employees and management, who gave their best even in these health difficulties so that Alternativa could honour every commitment it had taken on.
The fact is that we came through the coronavirus period phenomenally, with only a negligible number of employees absent and with a mild clinical picture. All of this is the result of a conscientious and responsible approach to the measures adopted to protect them, their colleagues at work and their families — and also of the statistic that the average age of all our employees is just 33.
In 2020 we began a new investment cycle worth 11 million KM, which we will complete in mid-2021, creating the preconditions for an even more significant step into the most demanding European markets.
