We are aware that other manufacturers of profiled sheets give verbal guarantees for periods of 30 or even 50 years, but a spoken word without written and certified proof is worthless in a legal case. Yes, we too say verbally that the service life of sheet is around 50 years — and so it is, if the material is properly protected against corrosion, which our suppliers guarantee to us and we guarantee to our customers. Any shortcomings in the protection of sheet will appear within 2 years if the material is exposed to external influences. Together with the invoice, Alternativa d.o.o. issues a certified Warranty Card which states, among other things:
a) The guarantee applies to products and goods from the seller’s production and sales programme, delivered under the stated invoice / invoices. A copy of the purchase invoice MUST be enclosed with any complaint.
b) The guarantee for products made of coated plastic-finished sheet is given EXCLUSIVELY against rusting through of the sheet, i.e. it is guaranteed that the material in its structure, quality and other characteristics corresponds to the characteristics of galvanised coated sheet;
c) The guarantee for products made of coated plastic-finished sheet is given exclusively for factory-made products within the output dimensions and type of material;
d) The period of validity of the guarantee against rusting through is 10 YEARS from the date of sale;
e) The guarantee for products made of coated plastic-finished sheet is given against a significant change in the colour of the sheet for a period of two years from the date of sale;
f) The right to the guarantee is lost after the guarantee period expires;
g) The guarantee is valid only if the principles and regulations for installing materials of this kind are observed, i.e. the customs and applicable regulations in construction, and the instructions on transport, storage and installation given in the seller’s catalogues;
h) The guarantee is valid if only the products and goods of the guarantor were used (screws, flashings, gutters and the rest);
i) The guarantee does not apply to mechanical damage occurring after the goods have been taken over, in cases of force majeure, or to damage caused by chemical and other negative environmental influences;
j) The guarantee for the quality of installation work is given by the contractor.
Useful advice – When buying profiled sheets, pay attention to the following:
What type of material it is (steel, aluminium, copper sheet…);
What type and degree of anti-corrosion protection it has (Alu-Zinc, Zn, primer…);
What type and degree of final protective coating the sheet has (polyester, pural, plastisol…);
Where the machines and tools that profile the sheets come from;
Ask to see the form of the written guarantee before you agree the purchase.
