Acoustic sandwich panel — the perforated facing lets sound into the core.
DetailsAcoustic sandwich panels are intended for spaces where acoustic conditions need to be improved alongside thermal insulation and fire protection requirements. The perforated facing and insulating core help reduce sound reflections and reverberation within the space.
Our range includes Topterm SoundSafe, a multilayer acoustic sandwich panel manufactured as a wall or roof element, subject to the indoor-use limitations described below.
An acoustic panel consists of:
The perforated internal facing allows sound waves to pass into the core, where some of the sound energy is absorbed. This reduces sound reflections within the space. The panel’s mass and layered structure also contribute to reducing airborne sound transmission through the construction.
Acoustic performance is assessed using sound insulation parameters (Rw, Rw′) and the absorption coefficient (α). Actual values depend on the complete system, joints, supporting structure and installation quality.
SoundSafe panels are intended for indoor use in industrial and manufacturing buildings, technical rooms, schools, sports halls and other spaces with pronounced reverberation.
Due to the perforated internal facing and the hygroscopic properties of stone wool, they are not intended for use as external elements or in constructions exposed to moisture and condensation.
Standard span and load-bearing tables for conventional sandwich panels do not automatically apply to SoundSafe panels. A separate structural calculation is required for each project.
