Topterm FP/ZP S1
Wall sandwich panel with concealed fixing — a monolithic look with no visible joints.
Details
An acoustic sandwich panel for rooms that need <b>less echo</b> alongside thermal and fire protection. The perforated inner facing lets sound waves into the mineral wool core, where part of the energy is absorbed. Made as a wall or a roof element.
Topterm SoundSafe is a multi-layer sandwich panel for buildings where, alongside thermal and fire protection, there are also demands for better acoustics in the room. The panel is produced as a wall or a roof element.
It consists of a perforated inner steel facing, a protective layer of felt, a core of non-combustible mineral wool and an outer profiled steel facing. The perforated facing lets sound waves pass into the core of the panel, where part of the acoustic energy is absorbed — which reduces the reflection of sound in the room. The mass of the panel and the layered structure also help reduce the transmission of airborne sound through the structure.
Acoustic performance is assessed with sound insulation values (Rw, Rw’) and the absorption coefficient (α), and the actual figures depend on the whole system, the joints, the supporting structure and the quality of installation. Because of the perforated facing and the hygroscopic nature of mineral wool, SoundSafe is not intended for external elements or for structures exposed to moisture and condensation. The standard span and load tables for conventional sandwich panels do not apply automatically — every project needs its own structural calculation.
The perforation lets sound waves into the core, where part of the energy is absorbed.
Alongside the acoustics, the core carries thermal and fire protection too.
The same panel is made in both versions, to suit where it goes.
The perforation and the hygroscopic wool rule it out on external faces.
Standard colours are available from stock with very short delivery times. On request we also produce specific RAL combinations and decorative wood-effect finishes.
